| "Do you accept both Macintosh and Windows files?" |
Yes. Both platforms are accepted, but that does not necessarily ensure that we are running the same software applications that you are. If you are unsure as to whether we are currently running your software program, call the customer service representative prior to sending your files.
| "Can I send jpeg files?" |
Yes, you can use jpeg files in your layout program. However, if you have the means to do so, we strongly suggest converting them to .tif or .psd files and placing those instead.
| "Do you accept images saved in the RGB color space?" |
Yes, but we strongly recommend that YOU convert them to CMYK; Presses use CMYK, therefore we will have to convert any RGB job to CMYK before printing. This may cause unwanted color shifts.
| "What types of storage media do you accept?" |
| CD, DVD, thumb drives, or Zip disk.
| "What is the best way to send files to Responsible Printing?" |
The preferred way to send files is to burn them to a CD or DVD or Thumb drives . However, if they are relatively small or if time is critical, they can be sent via FTP or Email.
| "Do I need a username and password to access Responsible Printing's FTP site?" |
Yes. Please call your customer service representative for a username and password.
| "Why can't I connect to the FTP server?" |
If you are having problems connecting to the FTP server, you should check that you are entering your username and password correctly. Capitalization must be entered properly (log-in is case-sensitive). Do not use a Web browser to connect to our FTP server. Use a dedicated FTP program, such as Fetch, Cyberduck or WS_FTP Pro.
| "Is there a maximum file size to send files via FTP"? |
No, but we recommend keeping the total size below 1 Gigabyte.
| "Should I compress files before submitting them via FTP?" |
Yes, please collect all of your project files in one folder, and then compress that folder into a ZIP file.
| "Can you build a die for my project layout?" |
Yes. Call our customer service representative with your project specifications and we will build a custom die to meet your needs.
